POLICY COVER (COMPREHENSIVE)

1.      Loss or Damage.

2.      Fire and Theft.

3.      Unlimited Third Party Injury and Passenger Liability.

4.      Third Party property damages up to £5m any one occurrence.

5.      Legal Liability of Passengers.

6.      Pleasure and Business Use by the Renter

HIRERS UNACCEPTABLE

1.      AGE LIMITATIONS:

Drivers under the age of 23 or over 72 years of age, or under 25 for vehicles with 7 or more seats.

2.      OCCUPATION

Persons including agents and consultants involved in or connected with:

The ENTERTAINMENT professions, musical groups and their members, theatre, film, radio, television, horse or greyhound racing, gambling & professional sport, SCRAP MERCHANTS, hawkers, general dealers & market traders.

The ARMED FORCES of non-UK-countries.

STUDENTS (other thank for private cars).

UNEMPLOYED persons.

3.      LICENCE QUALIFICATIONS

Persons who have held a full United Kingdom driving licence for less than 12 months, or 24 months for any driver under 25 years of age.

4.      CONVICTIONS

All convictions will be taken into consideration and could be subject to refusal.

5.      ACCIDENTS

Persons involved in 3 or more accidents in the preceding 3 years…

Persons involved in any one accident in the preceding 3 years may be subject to refusal, should the cost exceeded £5,000.

6.      HEALTH

i) MEDICAL – if DVLA notified and full licence given then normal terms

ii) DISABILITIES – normal terms provided a specially adapted vehicle is not required

7.      USE OF VEHICLE

Cover excludes use for the carriage of passengers for hire or reward, or for racing, competitions, trials or rallies.

8.      PREVIOUS INSURANCE HISTORY

Persons who have had a policy cancelled or a proposal declined or a renewal refused by an insurer.

9.      CASH PAYMENT

Payment must be with some identifiable means such as cheque with guarantee card, credit card, debit card etc.  It is not acceptable for customers hiring vehicles to pay with cash, except where a credit or debit card authorisation is used to guarantee a deposit or excess charge authorisation.

HIRERS ACCEPTABLE SUBJECT TO TERMS

1.   NON – UK LICENCE HOLDERS

Renters holding licences issued outside the UK are acceptable at your discretion, subject to such persons being aged over 25 years and having held a full licence for a minimum of 2 years.

It is essential that you are able to understand the licence and ensure that any prospective Renter has the necessary experience to cope with UK driving conditions.

2.   CONVICTIONS ACCEPTABLE WITHOUT REFERENCE TO INSURERS

Renters are acceptable at normal terms without referral to Insurers subject to the following:-

Drivers 23 – 24 are acceptable only if they do not disclose more than on Minor Conviction within the last 5 years.

Drivers 25 – 72 are acceptable, if, in the last 5 years, they have Minor Convictions which total 6 points or less.

ACCEPTABLE WITH ADDITIONAL £500 EXCESS

Speeding Disqualification up to 6 months (within last 5 years)

Minor Convictions which total 7 or 9 points (within last 5 years)

Convictions classed as Major Convictions are unacceptable at all times

OWN INSURANCE HIRERS (COMPANY HIRES)

Companies (not private individuals) may arrange their own insurance to cover the period of hire, but it is important that verification of their cover is obtained either in writing or by telephone from their Insurance Company or Broker.  If possible a reference number should be obtained along with confirmation by fax or e-mail.
